Storage-Bags, Kordi Tribes
An amazing pair of storage bags, woven in the Quchan region of Khorassan, north-east Persia by Kordi tribes during the early 20th century.
I've never seen such a finely woven pair of bags from this tribe - absolutely incredible!
But also look at the backs, with their narrow horizontal bands of flat-weave interspersed with wide bands of intricately woven soumak work.
These were found as a pair and have been in a private collection for a long time, as a pair, therefore I will sell them as a pair.
Origin: Quchan, Khorassan, North-East Persia.
Size: 94cm x 78cm and 99cm x 74cm
Date: Early 20th Century
Condition: Mint condition.
