Prayer Rug with Cintamani pattern
A true beauty, distinguished by an ivory background overlaid on its perimeter by a very elegant border. This encloses a repeat, diagonally arranged pattern of the çintamani motif, partly enclosed within a cochineal red niche containing ’S’ elements. This culminates in a beautifully drawn cusp holding bicoloured leafs in the same style and colours of the border.
A very accomplished rug, woven with competence and conviction, orchestrating Ottoman design elements with the bravura of the best directors.
