Mid-Century Swedish Wool Kilim

Ingegerd Silow is one of the most prolific and sought after of the Scandinavian kilim designers on the mid-20th century. Her simple designs, normally with carefully balanced interlocking geometric forms, work so well with contemporaneous Scandinavian furniture. This piece is a fine example. The wool quality and technique are excellent. The colours are very well blended, with lovely areas of abrash and complexity. Note the monogram 'IS' in bottom right corner.
