Khamseh rug
This rug has a fascinating design, I think it derives from Gul Farang or western flower but the outcome appears more like a piece of abstract art. The decoration is quite random and the whole field is a riot of colour with stylised flowers cramming every inch of space. All of this set within a very formal Khamseh border which contrasts with the chaos of the field. The wool is soft and the rug quite floppy as one would expect on a good old tribal rug. This is a rug that will retain its interest for a lifetime, a very unusual and lively piece.
