Karabagh rug
This rug certainly makes a statement and would need to be situated in the right room. These garish colours are typical of Karabagh pieces and this one somewhat excels in that respect. The bright red contrasts markedly with the black field with the softer green providing some respite. The large birds dominate the scene and are quite comical. Note the rug has been reduced in length hence the imbalance in design. It is certainly one that you either love or hate. I really like it for its unsual palette and crude drawing.
