Large Silk Ikat Panel

Silk ikats from Uzbekistan often create a spectacular vision.The large abstract forms and vivid colours can feel so modern and painterly. This is certainly the case with this large piece. Composed of five panels, interlocking hexagons in shades of fuchsia, yellow and blue, and framed by a lovely aubergine outline, vie with saw-toothed figures to dominate the composition. The result is stunning, and presents a decorative textile that can be used on the wall as well as a cover. Lined with original Russian chintz.
