Pair of Luri Bagfaces
Attributing this pair of Persian tribal bags was tricky. The symmetric knot and stylistic details suggested that they may have been woven by Kurds in the Veramin area of Central Persia. However, I finally settled on the Luri from southern Persia. They have wonderful hand spun wool and natural dyes. The design is lovely, rows of botehs with several filler ornaments, including stylised animals and geometric figures. Very pretty borders. These bags are very collectible, but would also make great decoration. The dimensions are 68cm x 60cm, 66cm x 59cm.
